When the Mystic Meets the Ground
What Falling Apart Taught Me About Living Fully Awake
Every one of us reaches a moment where the life we built no longer fits. Not because we’re failing — but because something deeper, older, and truer inside us begins to speak. When the Mystic Meets the Ground is the story of what happens when we finally hear it.
This book blends memoir, clinical insight, spirituality, nature wisdom, and the gritty truth of rebuilding a life that’s collapsed from the inside out.
What This Book Is
Part memoir, part field guide, When the Mystic Meets the Ground explores what it means to wake up through the very moments that look like your undoing. Through personal story and professional depth, I explore:
- The body’s fear response and how collapse happens
- How truth arrives in whispers before it arrives in screams
- How women are conditioned to shrink and how we unlearn it
- How nature reconnects us to our inner knowing
- How trauma, intuition, and courage coexist
- How falling apart can become an initiation into sovereignty
This book is not about fixing yourself.
It’s about returning to yourself.
Why I Wrote This Book
I’ve spent decades working in mental health — crisis response, prisons, hospice, substance use treatment, and private practice. I’ve sat with people in their darkest moments and watched the human spirit rise again and again. But when my own life collapsed — marriage, health, identity — I discovered that healing is not something you perform. It’s something you feel in your bones.
I wrote this book because I want to offer the same compassion, truth, and permission I needed during my own unraveling.
This book is a hand extended through the darkness.
